NAU just recently started sending out Alerts to the students via email and text messaging, which is a cool thing since the whole Virginia Tech thing...   So today I got the first Alert via text and email and found that it was also listed on NAU's home page.  Here it is..

2:09 p.m.
An armed bank robbery suspect was seen headed east toward campus from Wells Fargo on Milton Rd.
The Suspect is a white male, in his late 30s or early 40s, wearing a yellow shirt and khaki shorts, a black baseball cap and glasses.  He has a light beard/stubble and acne scars.
He is described a 6' tall and 180 pounds.
Anyone with information should call 911.

A side note:  today is the 1 year anniversary of Ohio State Trooper Josh Risner and Sgt. Holcomb's deaths in an accident that caused the death of a civilian.  Josh was a friend and step-son of my former boss and partner Rita.  It was a tough day last year and has been tough since for the family.  The state of Ohio renamed a portion of Jackson Pike/Old US 35 in honor of these two troopers.  My father and brother went to the ceremony this morning and Eric sent a picture of the sign to me on my cell phone.   My dad's birthday is on Sunday.   He'll be 52.  It's been a long week, and I'm still not done with half of my homework.   This week especially was hit hard with a lot of work from all of my classes..

I watched a portion of the Democratic presidential debate the other night.  Can we please get someone who is not an idiot to run for President?   I'm not happy with the republican side yet either.  However if we voted tomorrow Jon McCain would get my vote.  He's the only one with a plan for Iraq that make sense and the only one with the ability and desire to work with both parties to move this county forward.   If I have an extra $1000 bucks in my pocket I'd throw it his direction for sure.  God forbid if Hilary Clinton gets the nod.

Another Outlet

So here I am again.  after a few years of not using this bog I thought I'd start using it again. Reason?  Well it's easy to post to and I thought I'd use this blog to really talk about what is on my mind instead of politicizing my personal website.  My personal website is serving as my online portfolio and photo gallery and there are many people that I respect that com to that website to read my blog.  However, this one is read by anyone who stops by, so in a way it's a chance to air my opinion and thoughts without casting a shadow over my personal website.  Plus you can leave a comment to tell me what you think, unlike my other blog.   I find I might write on here more than my other on because it is easier to upload things...   so here goes...

Today....  Nazi's in Cali...
In case you haven't seen the news there is a U.S. Navy barracks in San Diego, California that is shaped like a huge swastika.   Yeah..   You can see it on Google Earth (which is something I'm addicted to now).  Its been there for 40 years and was "just now" noticed by the Navy, who said today that they were going to change the shape or "mask" the building by spending $600,000 to fix the snafu.   Having a little architecture training in high school, I can't believe the Navy didn't notice the shape of this building when reviewing the schematics.  I mean it's shaped like a symbol of a country that we defeated in WWII, and people 40 years ago were well aware of that fact.   If you do Google Earth it, look under Coronado, California and there are a few points already marking it...

Disgraceful San Francisco
So, have you heard the latest freak shit thing to do in San Francisco?  How about telling the United States Marine Corps Silent Drill Team that they Can't film a commercial on the streets of the city.  Yeah that's right, those damn freaks running that city refused to let our soldiers film a drill (where they spin guns and march around, you've seen them in the movies) when they were in San Francisco on...  get this...  September 11th....     The drill team was denied a permit to film in the city and on the Golden Gate Bridge because the Executive Director of the San Francisco Film Commission said that it would disrupt traffic.  So the Marines went to the National Park Service and filmed with the Golden Gate in the background.

Well let's see here..  You can be a man that is dressed like a woman and dance with a candy-cane and flowers in your wig supporting gay rights, bitching about the war and sporting a Hillary for President sign and march down the street in a gay rights parade, but you can't be a Marine in Uniform filming a commercial for recruitment to defend this country while on the street in San Francisco.  tell me again why we have kept that damn city?  With the crap they have pulled lately their city government's philosophy is in line with Iran, Cuba, and North Korea.  They recently kicked the ROTC out of all the high schools in the city.  They have the worst political stance in the country when it comes to anything the rest of the country wants.  Where the hell did they all come from?

I encourage you to write the Executive Director of the San Francisco Film Commission, Stefanie Coyote at express your opinion about her decision to refuse the marines their permit.  Also ask fro her resignation and apology to the US Marines in person.   She can be reached at:

Next petition your congressman to make sure this does not happen again...

Welcome my new outlet to things I think about...    It's not always what you think...
